Need a vaccination to cruise? For now, it s a patchwork of policies: Travel Weekly

Johanna Jainchill As cruise lines resume sailing, it is with a patchwork of vaccination policies that can be difficult to keep track of. Some lines have full-ship, 100% fleetwide vaccination policies. Some have vaccine mandates for people 16 or 18-plus and allow minors to board with a negative PCR test. Some tend towards ship and destination-specific policies. It is baffling, even to at least one cruise line CEO. Last week, Frank Del Rio, CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH), reiterated that the company s three cruise brands Norwegian Cruise Line, Regent Seven Seas and Oceania would have one, consistent vaccination policy across every one of its 28 ships: 100% vaccination of all passengers and crew.

Holland America’s New Ship Completes Sea Trials Published 2 weeks ago Holland America’s newest ship,  Rotterdam, returned last week to Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard in Venice, Italy after successfully completing two sets of sea trials off the country’s Adriatic coast. The vessel left Marghera on April 25 and performed the preliminary sea trials over two days before going into dry dock at Fincantieri’s Trieste shipyard, where standard pre-delivery hull maintenance and painting were performed. She is scheduled for delivery on July 30, 2021.

6 days ago It was smooth seas and fair winds for Holland America Line’s newest ship, Rotterdam, which has returned to Fincantieri’s Marghera (Venice) shipyard in Italy after successfully completing two sets of sea trials off the country’s Adriatic coast. Holland America Line to Restart Cruising from Greece in August 2021 09 May 2021 Holland America Line will start cruising from Piraeus (Athens) in August with four departures aboard Eurodam.  Bookings for these cruises are now open! Departing Aug. 15 and 29, the “Idyllic Greek Isles” itinerary features Kotor, Montenegro, plus the Greek isles of Kékira (Corfu), Thíra (Santorini) and Mykonos. “Ancient Wonders” departs Aug. 22 to explore Haifa, Israel, as well as Náfplion, Mykonos and Rhodes in Greece. Both options can be combined to form a longer, back-to-back 14-day Collectors’ Voyage.  A seven-day “Adriatic Allure” itinerary departing Sept. 5 will sail from Piraeus to Venice, Italy, with calls at Mykonos, Katakolon (Olympia) and Crete (Chania), Greece, and Sarandë, Albania.
