An Iowa City man has been charged after an incident at a convenience store stemming from his lack of clothing.
Police say that 28-year-old Dante Yance of Primrose Court entered the BP convenience store on Lower Muscatine Road just before 4pm Thursday without a shirt. He was told by staff that he had to leave and couldn’t be in the store shirtless. Yance reportedly refused to leave the store despite several requests to do so.
A clerk opened the door to the store and once again asked Yance to leave, and he allegedly responded by punching the clerk in the throat and about the face, drawing blood and causing swelling.
