Sheep can graze for about six to eight hours a day, according to Google. And it turns out, I can happily spend a good 60 minutes or so watching them; there s something quite hypnotic in that steady rhythm of rip, munch, chew. I ve just spent the night in a shepherds hut on Romney Marsh - a 100-square-mile stretch of marsh and farmland declared an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty , tucked between the Kent Downs and Sussex border on England s south coast. Alarm set for sunrise, I d planned to head out for an early bike ride, but opening my blinds to a heavy fog, it s a slow morning instead.
Swindon Crown Court A HANDYMAN arranged to meet a 13-year-old “girl” at Shaw Ridge – after swapping more than 1,000 messages with her online. Robert Buck spent around 10 days chatting to what he thought was a schoolgirl on WhatsApp. But the person behind the profile, which was in the name of Freya, was a so-called paedophile hunter working with group Justice for the Innocent. The group had arranged to confront 34-year-old Buck at Shaw Ridge, West Swindon, on January 19, 2020. But Swindon Crown Court heard the man had “got spooked” and driven off. He was arrested the following day at his home. Prosecutor Simon Foster told the court the messages had begun innocuously but soon turned to explicit topics. They would message each other from 7am to late at night.
