Now retired, Joe, aged 66, made the discovery at a popular fishing spot in Lower Grange, Newcastle West. The syringes were among many other bags of rubbish dumped at the location on the River Deel. Bulbs from cars were another unusual discovery compared to the more common household waste. “It is disgusting. Schoolboy, 11, uses his daily walk to collect more than 30 bags of litter around Basingstoke

11-year-old Jordan Marsh noticed lots of litter while out walking, and decided to do something about it. “He’s done absolutely loads,” his mum, Jacquie, told the Gazette. “It started about four weeks ago, and he said to me one day: ‘All this rubbish, can we bring a litter-picker with us and pick it up?’” “We’ve always had one lying around, but it’s never been used to actually pick up litter before!” Jordan, who is in Year 7 at Dove House School Academy - a specialist school for children with moderate learning difficulties - was inspired by his family’s love for wildlife.

Large amount of electrical tools stolen in Goresbridge burglary Reporter:   ); Gardaí are investigating a burglary at a shed in a farm yard in Lower Grange in Goresbridge earlier this week. The incident occurred sometime between 6pm on Tuesday and 9am on Wednesday morning. A double axel 12x6 Ifor Williams trailer was taken along with a large amount of electrical tools including a multi-coloured Honda generator/welder, a Honda petrol borer, a blue Makita electric grinder, a blue Makita power drill and two jack hammers. If you are offered any tools for sale or noticed anything suspicious in the area contact gardaí in Thomastown.
