As tourism and hospitality businesses across Ireland begin to reopen it’s time to draw a literal line in the sand on the last number of months. Fáilte Ireland has released aerial photography of a bespoke piece of sand artwork commissioned as part of their ‘Keep Discovering’ campaign. The piece, over 120ft in length, is an illustration of the many hidden gems there are to uncover in Ireland and the joy of discovering them. The unique piece, by environmental artist Sean Corcoran, was created by hand on Kilmurrin Cove in Co. Waterford. As tourism and hospitality businesses across Ireland begin to reopen itâs time to draw a literal line in the sand on the last number of months.
Fáilte Ireland has released aerial photography of a bespoke piece of sand artwork commissioned as part of their âKeep Discoveringâ campaign. The piece, over 36 metres in length, is an illustration of the many hidden gems there are to uncover in Ireland and the joy of discovering them.
The unique piece, by environmental artist Sean Corcoran, was created by hand on Kilmurrin Cove in Co. Waterford. The creation was made by hand and measured by the artistâs eye and outlined with bamboo sticks. The beach sand had to be dried after several days of heavy rain by using a complex system of manmade drains to release water from the beach sand and redirect ground water out to sea. The process took an hour to reduce ground water and create the perfect
