New Delhi, Feb 13 : Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi made two important political points addressing a farmers rally in Saharanpur putting on a Rudraksh mala and taking a holy dip at the Sangam and meeting Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati at Mankameshwar Mandir in Prayagraj.
As the party is trying to make inroads into Jatland through the farmers agitation, Priyanka is making bold political statements through her persona and carrying a Rudraksh at Dehradun is one of them. However, close aides say mixing personal faith with politics is uncalled for as the Congress is a party for everyone, of each religion and caste, and the party is with the farmers for a cause not because of politics.
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is now scheduled to visit Uttar Pradesh s Bijnor and Meerut districts on February 15, according to sources.
Gandhi was earlier expected to conduct a dialogue with farmers in Bijnor and Muzaffarnagar districts on February 13.
During her visit, she will participate in the Kisan Panchayat and meet the farmer families.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Congress leader visited Saharanpur to attend Kisan Mahapanchayat.
Addressing the Kisan Mahapanchayat, she alleged that the new farm laws are designed to help billionaires.
Meanwhile, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Rajasthan on February 12 and February 13 to express solidarity with farmers who are protesting against the new agricultural laws of the Centre.

BKU’s Naresh Tikait lashes out at BJP, Modi at massive kisan panchayat in Bilari
Adopting an aggressive tone at a massive “kisan panchayat” in Bilari town of Moradabad on Friday, Bhartiya Kisan Union (BKU) president Naresh Tikait said, “98% Hindus voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) but after the farmers’ protest, only 2% will remain will be left with it.”
More than the farm laws, he said, the farmers’ protest had become a fight for protecting the “dignity” of farmers. “If we let it wither away, nobody would take the name of farmers for the next 30-40 years,” he said.
