The child told the responding police officer that she was playing in the front yard on Saturday night May 15 around 6:50 pm when a dark colored SUV stopped in the road near the yard with the man behind the wheel yelling for her to come over to the vehicle.
She then immediately ran inside the house and the vehicle left the area, turning onto Pitney Lane and heading towards East Veteran’s Highway.
The driver is described as an adult male with dark hair and a beard, holding what appeared to be a bottle of beer, police said.

James Butts, 30, of Killeen pleaded guilty on Jan. 5 to a second-degree felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. On Tuesday, Judge John Gauntt followed a plea agreement in the case and placed Butts on four years of deferred adjudication probation. The judge warned that if he violates the terms of his probation, he is facing two to 20 years in prison.
The case was heard remotely in the 27th Judicial District Court.

According to a report from the Killeen Daily Herald, 30-year-old James Butts of Killeen stabbed another man on May 5, 2020 in the drive-thru of a McDonalds.

Police responded to the McDonald s at the 2100 block of East Veteran’s Memorial Boulevard after receiving a dispatch about a disturbance. When authorities arrived they learned that Butts had walked out of the restaurant to confront a man in the drive thru.
