Ascent Aviation plans first lease here of shop building
Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record The Arizona aviation services company expected to create a hundred jobs here by 2022 is making its first – albeit, modest – entry to the Roswell Air Center by leasing a building for storage. David Querio, president of Ascent Aviation Services (Submitted Photo) David Querio, president of Ascent Aviation Services Corp., said that the lease price for Building 100 at the Air Center makes sense for his company. “The building was immediately available and priced at a price point where we could afford to rent it significantly in advance of its actual need to ensure that it was still available when we actually needed it,” Querio said.

RHS counselor: Never give up - Roswell Daily Record
Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record Life is 90% attitude when adversity hits, and 10% what happens. At a young age, life delivered a thunderbolt to Ralph Tellez, guidance counselor at Roswell High School, and forever changed his outlook. Ralph Tellez, Roswell High School guidance counselor (Submitted Photo) At an early age, one man, Horace âPopâ Brown, believed in Tellez and made a difference. Tellez used to work as a rack boy at the Sunset Pool Hall. Brown impressed Tellez because he had a classic Cadillac. While working at the pool hall after school and during the summers, Tellez listened to the wisdom from âPopâ Brown and earned two degrees, a Bachelor of Science in psychology, and a masterâs in school counseling.

Hispano Chamber sets goals, plans activities for year ahead
Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record [Note: This post has been updated after receiving corrected information regarding the chamber’s financial support from the city of Roswell.] The Roswell Hispano Chamber of Commerce will focus on membership growth as well as the financial and knowledge growth of their business members in the year ahead, according to the group’s executive director, Marcos Nava. In his third year at the helm of the nonprofit organization, Nava said the coronavirus crisis has hurt many of the city’s Hispanic-owned businesses, as the pandemic has hurt most organizations in the state and elsewhere. The chamber is still keeping those members that have not paid their dues on their roster, Nava said, in recognition of the difficulties of the current situation.
