A citizen s call of four men with a gun Thursday led to a police chase through Buffalo s East Side and Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cheektowaga. When it ended on Harlem Road, four suspects were in custody and one police officer was at Erie County Medical Center in critical condition.
Buffalo Police officer Jonathan Negron, 29, responded to the gun call near Genesee Street and Crossman Avenue just before 1 p.m. Not far from the city line, Cheektowaga Police soon joined in the chase. Minutes later, Negron was unconscious in ECMC s Intensive Care Unit with a serious head injury.

A troop of renowned musicians who have been roaming the country playing concerts in the gardens of hospitals and nursing homes is on its way to Cork this month.
Covid Care Concerts was launched last June by leading Irish cellist Gerald Peregrine and the project has since played close to 470 classical concerts in 14 counties.
Each concert sees a core group of some of the country’s finest classical musician joined by well-known names from the Irish music industry.
The live shows feature music ranging from classical to ‘70s pop, as well as traditional Irish music, usually finishing with ‘We’ll Meet Again’ by Vera Lynn.
