Safety concerns regarding newly planted trees near a gas transmission pipeline and a popular trail in Folsom will lead to work that could soon impact traffic along East Natoma Street. As part of its commitment to keeping customers and communities safe, Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) will be conducting important gas vegetation work between the Johnny Cash Trail and East Natoma Street. This work is being conducted as part of PG&E s Gas Transmission Vegetation Management program, which is focused on keeping the area above and around the gas transmission pipeline clear of items that can block access for safety crews in an emergency or for critical maintenance work, reads news release.The tree removal will include 17 trees that are considered too close to the pipeline and could pose a safety concern.PG&E at first said the removal work was slated to begin on Monday.
