(WAFF) - Linemen have been working tirelessly on damaged power lines, trying to get the lights back on for people in Limestone County. At one point, more than 4,000 Athens Utilities customers were without power. (Source: WAFF) But many people are still in the dark. As of 9 p.m. Tuesday, around 727 Athens Utilities customers are still without power. We stopped by one of the areas with the most outages Tuesday night in West Limestone County, to see how people are doing there.

(TNS) and Tribune Media Services A woman ran back into a burning Limestone County mobile home in an effort to rescue her 2-year-old daughter early this morning, authorities said, but both the mother and child died in the blaze. Jeffrey Branson and the 32-year-old woman made it out of the mobile home at 28746 Jennings Chapel Road off East Limestone Road, according to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office, but the woman went back in. The names of the woman, from Prospect, Tennessee, and her daughter had not been released as of late Wednesday afternoon.
