Police say they are investigating a shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon at a northeast Springfield convenience store.
Jasmine Bailey, spokeswoman for the Springfield Police Department, said one person was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a shooting at the Kum & Go on East Kearney Street near Highway 65.
Following the shooting, there was a large police presence at the nearby Welcome Inn motel. Bailey said police responded to that area in search of the suspect from the shooting.
As of 5:30 p.m., Bailey said the suspect had not yet been located.

Mesquite business park in the works with more than 1 million square feet
Dalfen Industrial bought land for the project near Mesquite Airport earlier this year.

A developer is detailing plans for a new business park in Mesquite.
In January, Dalfen Industrial bought almost 40 acres near Interstate 635 and Mesquite Airport. The building sites are on East Scyene Road. Now it has disclosed plans to construct two distribution buildings with more than 1 million square feet of space.
The Mesquite Airport Logistics center would start construction next month and is valued at almost $33 million, according to planning documents filed with the state.
