This week, the Food and Drug Administration authorized use of the Pfizer-BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for 12- to 15-year-olds. It is not the last hurdle: A federal advisory committee must meet to make recommendations for the vaccine’s use in the age group, and a state task force oversees the final approval.

NEW YORK - Lincoln Center is Manhattan’s unrivaled mecca of performing arts, and this spring it is transforming its massive sixteen-acre campus into an open-air venue, complete with ten outdoor performance and rehearsal spaces aimed at jump-starting the city’s cultural comeback. Everyone is hopeful. There’s a lot of joy, and it’s been such a pleasure to call people and say, ‘Would you like to perform?’ It’s so positive. Many of them have not performed for fourteen months, Jordana Leigh, Lincoln Center’s Senior Director of Artistic Programming told FOX 5 NY.

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) Lincoln Center is transforming its plaza to make space for outdoor performances this summer.
CBS2’s Dave Carlin got a sneak peek Thursday at the giant set designed by Mimi Lien.
“The curved design was really a signature element of what she had in mind,” Lincoln Center’s Chief Strategy and Innovation Officer Clive Chang told Carlin.
The famed Lincoln Center fountain has been redone with a blanket of synthetic lawn, part of what’s called The Green.
A year after the pandemic threw New York into turmoil, THE CITY is examining the shaken-up jobs market including the varying impact on different sectors and evolving predictions of what’s to come.
The Muse Hotel in Times Square tried with very little success to navigate the coronavirus pandemic. It closed when the economy paused last year, reopened three months later and shut its doors again on Jan. 3.
“We just weren’t able to grow the business,” said Matt Hurlburt, the general manager. “We were averaging 20% occupancy with average room rates 40% of what they would normally be.”
But now the hotel is scheduled to reopen on March 24 just as Gov. Andrew Cuomo lifts COVID-19 quarantine rules on all domestic travelers. And Hurlburt is optimistic that tourism is about to begin its comeback.
