CANTON For the next five months, patrons of the North Branch of the Stark County District Library will have to travel a little farther for their materials.
Starting Monday, the branch at 189 25th St. NW will be closed for a $1.55 million renovation that includes new computers and a business center, upgraded technology, study rooms, and new carpet and paint.
There also will be sitting areas and furniture outfitted with outlets for electronic devices.
Located at the northern edge of the city s Historic Ridgewood neighborhood, the North Branch was built in 1962. Its most recent renovation was in 2001.
Stephanie Cargill, director of communications, said North Branch employees will be assigned to other branches and departments during reconstruction.
