Woman’s burned body found in Port Huron home investigated as a homicide, police say Tags:  The burned body of a woman was found inside a Port Huron home on May 29, 2021. (WDIV) PORT HURON, Mich. – Police in Port Huron are investigating the death of a woman after her body was found inside a home Saturday morning. According to authorities, Port Huron police and fire crews were called to a house on Division Street, just south of the intersection of 18th and Oak streets. Police said they received a call at about 8:15 a.m. regarding a smoking house and a burned body inside.

Body found in burnt Port Huron house, murder suspected

Authorities are investigating the death of a 28 year old Port Huron woman who's body was found in a burnt out house this past weekend. The fire was reported around 8:15am Saturday at a home in the 1800 block of Division Street. Port Huron Police and Fire Crews responded to the home and discovered the woman's body inside. Later Saturday night, police searched a house in the 2400 block of Hopps Road in Port Huron Township. A 27 year old man who was dating the deceased woman was interviewed and and arrested on the charge of murder. The St. Clair County Medical Examiner is in the process of performing an autopsy on the victim to determine a cause of death. The name of the victim will be released pending results of the autopsy. The name of the suspect is currently being withheld until arraignment. Anjanette Beaver of Macomb County, who is described in the suit as a Native American woman, complained to management, but was met with retaliation, and eventually forced to quit last month because of untenable working conditons, according to the suit filed Friday in U.S. District Court in Detroit.
