Syracuse man guilty of sexual attack on Landmark Theater actress: ‘Do you want to die?’ Updated Apr 01, 2021; Syracuse, NY A Syracuse man was taken to jail in handcuffs Thursday after being convicted of attempted kidnapping as a sexually motivated crime in the random attack on an out-of-town actress performing at the Landmark Theater in 2019. Clifford Woods, 40, was caught on police video grabbing the woman as she walked past the Clinton Plaza Apartments, 550 S. Clinton St., around 4:30 p.m. Sept. 30, 2019. The 32-year-old actress was following her cell phone’s directions to a nearby pharmacy on Gifford Street to buy her mom a birthday card, prosecutor Anthony Copani told a jury.

One man was stabbed and another was charged with assault after an incident Sunday morning at a downtown apartment building. Syracuse Police responded to a stabbing call about 5:11 a.m. Sunday at the Clinton Plaza Apartments, 550 S. Clinton St., according to Sgt. Matthew Malinowski. They found Charles Moore, 36, who had been stabbed in the neck. He was taken to Upstate University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Malinowski said. After investigating, police arrested Agustin Carrasquillo, 53, and charged him with assault and criminal possession of a weapon. He is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
