Fire destroys old school house

Courtesy-BCSO PETERSVILLE, Ind. – An old one-room schoolhouse, dating back to 1892, burned early Monday morning in Petersville. Deputies with the Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) were called to the area of East County Road 250N and North County Road 500E, in regards to the structural fire, at about 2:15 a.m. Law enforcement found the building fully engulfed in flames. The blaze was extinguished by the Clay Township, Columbus Township, and Clifford Fire Departments. Columbus Regional Health EMS also responded. Bartholomew County First Responders team up for Parade of Hope

Sheriff car (mk) BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. – To get families in the Christmas spirit this weekend, several Bartholomew County first responder agencies have teamed up for the Parade of Hope that will make its way to several streets and towns this Saturday, December 19. Organizers say they want to give people inspiration and hope during these tough times. If you gather for the parade, you are asked to wear a mask and social distance. Taking part are the Columbus Police Department, Hope Fire Department, Bartholomew County Sheriffs Office, Hartsville Fire Department, Elizabethtown Fire Department, Clay Township Fire Department, Columbus Regional EMS, and Clifford Fire Department.
