CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville metro area has been ranked fifth in the nation for the fastest growth in building permits issued for single-family homes, according to a new report from the National Association of Realtors.
The report, published June 7, surveyed 262 metropolitan areas across the country and found that over the last year, the Clarksville metro area experienced 122.3% growth in single-family home permits, with the number of single-family building permits totaling 3,149 0ver the last 12 months.
This means the number of building permits issued over the last year more than doubled in Clarksville and the surrounding counties.
The assessment also included Stewart County and Trigg and Christian counties in Kentucky under the Clarksville TN-KY metro area evaluated for this study.

“I never in a million years dreamed that all of the hard work I put in getting my finances to where I could buy a home was actually here,” Herrera told Clarksville Now.
With all her ducks in a row, she was approved for a loan. She also applied for down payment assistance and a first-time homebuyer’s program. Herrera had rebuilt her credit, leaving just student loans to tackle, and they had been deferred, she said.

th Appetite for Art fundraiser for the S.O.S. (Spreading Our Support), and the F.U.E.L. Food Ministry in Montgomery County on Friday, April 9 at the Silo Event Center in Hopkinsville, Kentucky.
Close to 100 guests enjoyed dinner, music, and an auction of original artwork by local Montgomery County students. The theme for the event was “Healthy Eating,” and the artists were asked to depict what healthy eating means to them, looks like in their life, or feels like to them. Artwork by Montgomery County students was auctioned off at a fundraiser for the F.U.E.L. program by the Clarksville Association of Realtors for their 14th Appetite for Art event Apr. 9 2021 (Lee Erwin).
