Brent Luyster Jr.’s court hearing came to an abrupt end Tuesday after the teenage homicide suspect launched into an expletive-laden rant about the media, and cursed at and disparaged the judge.

SPRINGFIELD – The Clark County Juvenile Court CASA®/GAL (Court Appointed Special Advocate/Guardian ad litem) Program is recruiting volunteers. The mission of the CASA®/GAL volunteer is to assure that the best interests of a child, who has entered the court system primarily as a result of abuse, neglect, or dependency, are represented at every stage of the case. A volunteer provides information to the court so that it may make better informed decisions on behalf of the child.

SEATTLE A data breach may have exposed the personal information of 1.6 million residents who filed for unemployment last year, as well as other information from state agencies and local governments, Washington state Auditor Pat McCarthy said Monday.
The breach involved third-party software used by the auditor’s office to transmit files. It came as the Auditor’s Office is investigating how the state Employment Security Department lost hundreds of millions of dollars to fraudsters, including a Nigerian crime ring, who rushed to cash in on sweetened pandemic-related benefits by filing fake unemployment claims.
Vancouver teen suspected in Clackamas County rest stop killing to return to Oregon for prosecution

A 16-year-old Vancouver boy wanted in a homicide investigation in Clackamas County will voluntarily return to Oregon for prosecution.
Court records indicate Cesar Soto Gama is suspected of second-degree murder in the shooting death of 16-year-old Juan Tomas Santos Bautista. He is also suspected of first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon.
On Wednesday, Soto Gama was back in Clark County Juvenile Court to waive his right to contest extradition to Oregon, which could be completed by the time of a follow-up hearing scheduled for Friday.
