Two charged with Nigel Scott murder

TWO people have been charged with the murder of Nigel Scott. Mr Scott died in hospital on Monday after being found in a Blackburn street critically injured on Sunday. Daniel Butler, 32, of Walker Street, Preston and Marina Westlund, 26, of Clarendon Road East, Blackburn, have been charged and are due to appear before Blackburn magistrates. A spokesperson for the police said: “Following enquiries and after consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service two people were charged last night with Mr Scott’s murder. “Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage from the area to come forward.”

Blackburn woman, 26, arrested on suspicion of murder

Nigel Scott DETECTIVES investigating the death of 58-year-old have made a further arrest. The 26-year-old woman, from Blackburn, was arrested at an address in the town last night (Tuesday, December 29th) on suspicion of murder. She is currently in custody. Officers were called by the ambulance service at 10.05am on Sunday (December 27) to reports a man had been found unconscious on the pavement in Clarendon Road East in Blackburn. Nigel Andrew Scott, from Preston, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries but sadly died on December 28th. A 32-year-old man from Preston who was initially arrested on suspicion of wounding was subsequently arrested on suspicion of murder following Mr Scott’s death. He remains in custody.
