EAST ELLIJAY, Ga. – Gilmer County is reporting the arrest of a gang member tonight. Gilmer County is no stranger to the Ghost Face gang name. With ties all over, news reports have followed arrests of these gang members from Augusta to counties in South Carolina and more. The Zell Miller Mountain Parkway Drug Task Force has had previous run-ins with the gang as have Sheriff Departments like Gilmer. Tonight, Gilmer Sheriff Stacy Nicholson and the Sheriff’s Office are reporting the arrest of Jeremy Kelley in East Ellijay.

Kennesaw suspect named in connection with bank robbery, high speed chaseNews

BLUE RIDGE, Ga -Kennesaw man Brandon Nunnelley gave chase to Gilmer County deputies after allegedly executed a bank robbery in Fannin County.
In the warrant issued by Fannin’s Magistrate Judge Brian Jones, it named Nunnelley as the suspect in a bank robbery that occurred at BB&T on the morning of April 29. Nunnelley allegedly intimidated a teller into handing over approximately $2,200 in cash.
Gilmer County deputies spotted a car matching that description heading south on Hwy. 515. The vehicle initiated a high-speed chase after law enforcement tried to stop it. Gilmer deputies followed the car into Pickens County where it turned north on Old Hwy. 5 at Ga 136 connector. After reaching a safe location, law enforcement pulled a pit maneuver to stop the suspect’s vehicle. The maneuver was executed along Ellijay Road and Muscadine Trail. The area is shut down at this

Gilmer Sheriff’s Deputy arrested for assaultNews

JASPER, Ga. – Pickens County has released the charges against a Gilmer County Sheriff’s Deputy after he was arrested last night, January 31, 2021.

According to the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a call regarding domestic violence at approximately 10:16 p.m. on January 31, 2021. Authorities are not releasing additional details about the incident itself at this time.
However, the report did say that they arrested an off-duty Gilmer Sheriff’s Office deputy. Named in the report as Jason Lynn Newman, 34. The Pickens Sheriff’s Office stated that Gordon County Sheriff’s Office located Newman around 1 a.m. before Pickens County took him into custody where he is currently being held at the Pickens Sheriff’s Office Adult Detention Center.
