A bakery in Texas has been accused of anti-LGBTQ harassment and discrimination by two former employees, a gay man and a lesbian woman.
Gilbert Johnson and Katherine Phillips have filed two separate lawsuits against Dessert Gallery in Houston, alleging the bakery violated their civil rights in terminating their employment.
Johnson, former general manager of the bakery, and Phillips allege that they were fired due to their sexual orientation after facing “offensive” comments from coworkers and having to defend a transgender coworker against anti-trans harassment.

SAN DIEGO
San Diego police have identified a 42-year-old man who was shot and killed last Wednesday night in a trailer parked near an Encanto home as Isaac J. Grant.
Grant was fatally shot Jan. 27 around 10:35 p.m. at the trailer parked at the home on Varney Drive near Leaf Terrace. Police have released few details about their investigation.
Investigators were looking into whether the killing was related to the fatal shooting of another man that occurred two months earlier in the same area.
In the earlier case, a 44-year-old man, Gilbert Johnson, was shot and killed on Nov. 25 inside a vehicle just around the corner from the Jan. 27 homicide. At the time, police said it appeared Johnson was talking to an acquaintance when another vehicle pulled up near them and a gunman got out and fired several rounds.
