Evansville food news: Beer garden, food truck festival, new cigar bar

EVANSVILLE, Ind.  We re bringing you Tri-State restaurant happenings and food news you need to know. Check out this weekly feature to keep up to date on the latest. The Evansville Brewery Beer Garden will happen on Saturday, May 29, from 2-7 p.m. at Adams Avenue and Putnam Streets just east of Haynie’s Corner. A $20 pre-purchased sampling ticket will get you unlimited beer samples from Carson’ Brewery, Damsel Brew Pub, Haynie’s Corner Brewing Co., Myriad Brewing and the Ohio Valley Homebrewers Association between 2-4 p.m. After 4 p.m., live music begins and beer will be sold by the pint. No ticket is necessary for entry after 4 p.m. Food trucks will be on hand. This event is for those 21 and over. A portion of proceeds will benefit Patchwork Central.

Gilda s Club NYC holds virtual benefit It s Always Something Replay Video UP NEXT A virtual benefit show featuring the likes of Sting, Jon Batiste, Roseanne Cash, and David Sanborn took place Wednesday night to raise money in the fight against cancer. The It s Always Something concert takes its name from the catchphrase of the late comic Gilda Radner. She left us a legacy of laughs, of course, but also a vital resource: Gilda s Club NYC. The sanctuary for cancer patients and their families was founded after her death from ovarian cancer at the age of 42. Gilda s Club NYC went virtual during the pandemic and saw demand for its services jump by 55%, all of which makes the benefit all the more important.
