Top female stars reflect on the “secret weapon” of being funny, their path to fame and their heroes in “Lifetime Presents Variety’s Power of Women: The Comedians,” which premiered Monday on Lifetime.
The special featured interviews with Michaela Coel, Mindy Kaling, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Kate McKinnon, Maya Rudolph and Sofia Vergara, who were celebrated in the May 5 Power of Women edition of
Variety. Tina Fey also paid tribute to the late “Saturday Night Live” icon Gilda Radner as part of the Lifetime special.

Russell tells “People” his mom taught him piano, and was his fourth grade music teacher. Later when they moved to Nashville she once again taught music to youngsters. “So that is the lens that I view this through: This is going to help my mom. This is going to help incredible teachers like my mom all over America,’” he says. “I m all in on this thing.
Mollusks and muscle cars return to O.C.
In Ocean Cityâs own take on Groundhog Day, their crustacean mascot will seek his shadow on Martin Z. Mollusk Day (Saturday, May 8) to see if summer will come a week early. The fun begins at 11 a.m. on the beach at Ninth Street. This annual tradition includes a coloring contest for kids â entry forms and coloring pages will be distributed at the Primary School and can be picked up at the City Hall Welcome Center (861 Asbury Ave.), the Ocean City Free Public Library (1735 Simpson Ave.) and the Ocean City Music Pier (Boardwalk at Moorlyn Terrace) on weekends.

Gilda’s Club Middle Tennessee, a Nashville-based non-profit dedicated to providing support, education, and hope to anyone impacted by cancer, and Delta Dental of Tennessee (Delta Dental), the state’s largest independent dental benefits carrier, today launched a new partnership to support individuals living with oral cancers and raise awareness of the disease and the importance of early detection.
Deanna Linville is an Associate Professor in the College of Education. She is a licensed marriage and family therapist as well as a clinical member and approved supervisor with the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). Linville s research interests include obesity and eating disorder prevention and treatment, family wellness, and integrated healthcare/medical family therapy.
Linville received specialized training in medical family therapy (collaborative family healthcare) through her doctoral fellowship at University of Chicago-Chicago Center for Family Health. During this fellowship, Linville worked at three medical sites: MacNeal Family Practice Center, Gilda s Club, and the Chicago Center for Family Health and provided therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups dealing with acute and chronic illness, disabilities and loss. This training background still influences her current intervention research, clinical supervision and pedagogy.
