(WNCN) – Nearly two dozen people are facing federal charges following an investigation into the sale of drugs on or near multiple college campuses in North Carolina, the U.S. Department of Justice announced Thursday. The drug trafficking investigation was conducted by a task force with the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. While working on a drug case several years ago, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office got information about the sale of illegal drugs on the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s campus, the DOJ said.
