HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Bargain hunters who wanted to support a good cause found lots of deals Saturday at a large outdoor market hosted by Christian Services, Inc.
A âMega Yard Saleâ was held at the organizationâs headquarters on East Second Street.
The sale had furniture, clothing, housewares, gifts and other items.
The staff and volunteers at Christian Services say it was a great way to decrease excess inventory before they reopen their âBargains and Blessingsâ thrift store.
Staff members at Hattiesburg’s Christian Services, Inc. are preparing to reopen their “Bargains and Blessings” thrift store that closed down at the beginning of the pandemic.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Dozens of people took advantage of nice weather Saturday to enjoy an annual Easter celebration at Hattiesburgâs Christian Services.
An Easter Fun Day at the organizationâs main offices on East Second Street featured an egg hunt and other games and activities for children.
Families also learned about Jesus Christ and the true meaning of the Easter holiday.
And families were provided with sack lunches and other gifts.
âWe feed their soul and then we feed their belly on the way out and so, itâs just a fun day and then they can stay and play games as long as they want,â said Maggie West, executive director of Christian Services, Inc.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Hattiesburgâs Christian Services, Inc. reached out to Pine Belt families Saturday, by inviting them to an annual holiday celebration.
The âBirthday Party for Jesusâ was held outdoors at the organizationâs administrative offices and soup kitchen on East Second Street.
Families were encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Each child received a gift and lunch and holiday wreaths were also given out.
âWe just want to make sure in this crazy time that there is just a stability and we know that is Jesus and we know that we need to have our hope and love in that,â said Maggie West, director of administration at Christian Services, Inc.
