Many of us have a favourite candy or chocolate that we particularly enjoy at Christmastime. (I’ll tell you mine at the end.) Some of us like those Terry’s chocolate oranges. Truth to tell, there aren’t many chocolate treats that come with the instructions to “whack it on a hard surface before unwrapping.” Maybe it’s seen as a harmless way to release pent-up frustration. There s no better way to celebrate the holidays than with a good cocktail. Lockdown restrictions and quarantining at home over the past eight months have shone a light on the art of cocktail making and at-home cocktail hours (who watched Stanley Tucci s viral cocktail series?!), so to get us prepared for hosting duties at home, Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin of The Home Edit have partnered with Cointreau to share some holiday bar cart tips.

Norris Cultural Arts Center s A Baker s Dozen Holiday Festival continues online Tuesday, Dec. 15 with Tessera Winds performing Up on the Housetop and Joy to the World and the Vivace Trio playing Christmastime Is Here and the Carol of the Bells.
The 13-day festival, which started Dec. 12, continues daily through Dec. 23. Each new daily episode is available for viewing at norrisculturalarts.com starting at noon, and remains available through the end of the Christmas season. On Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, the festival will culminate in a combined reprise of all 12 performances in a multigenre holiday special. All of the performances were recorded at the historic Baker Community Center.
