These revelations come in a new book, The History of the Court Theatre, celebrating 50 years 1971 -2021, that is being officially launched on Friday at an Alumni Event as part of the theatre s 50th celebrations.
Written by published author, long-time Court Theatre patron and former board chair Felicity Price, and by former board secretary Derek Hargreaves, Price says that after nearly five decades as secretary to The Court Theatre Trust, Hargreaves had some pretty good stories to tell.

Christchurch's Court Theatre has outlived all the other first professional theatres set up on New Zealand. It proudly celebrates its 50th birthday on the 21st of April.
