An application for the judicial review and setting aside of certain clauses of the mining charter is being heard this week.
According to industry body, the Minerals Council of SA, Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe exceeded his powers in publishing sweeping provisions of the Mining Charter in 2018.
They want certain sections set aside, and take issue with key BEE clauses.

This is according to the Minerals Council of SA, which has filed an application for judicial review in a bid to have certain clauses of the charter set aside, arguing that these are vague and unjustified.

A man who slipped on a puddle of Baileys and hit his head inside Heathrow Airport has won a £130,000 payout from British Airways in court.
Andreas Wuchner, a businessman, reportedly suffered brain damage as a result of the fall, which resulted in his company folding the following year. He slipped on a puddle of Baileys that was spilled on the floor by another passenger, close to a British Airways (BA) check-in desk.
It was explained in Central London County Court that Mr Wuchner had been intending to travel to Zurich on a BA-operated aircraft. When he was preparing to check in and board the plane, he slipped on the pool of Irish Cream, sustaining traumatic brain injury.

Now he has been awarded a £130,000 payout at Central London County Court
A trial will also go ahead at a later date over whether he is due a bigger payout
