BECKET - Detectives have not been able to determine the cause of a fire that destroyed a 220-seat theater at Jacob’s Pillow because the damage to the building was so extensive.
The fire was reported at about 6:50 a.m. on Nov. 17 and destroyed the Doris Duke Theatre, the smaller of the two performance buildings on the premiere dance festival and performance space in Berkshire County. The damage to the property is estimated at $3 million, said Jennifer Mieth, spokeswoman for the State Fire Marshal’s office.
