They were the work of nimble-fingered Furness doll-maker Kathleen Greenwood. She had lovingly re-created the TV characters with perfect little clay faces and miniature clothes. Next to them were chubby golden-haired baby dolls, dressed in lacy frocks, and delicate costume dolls with rosy painted lips and life-like eyes staring out of their china bisque faces.

Bringing a bouquet of romantic songs to Waipawa on Valentine s Day will be singers from Singing School New Zealand who will be in concert at the Centralines Summer Series in Nelly Jull Park, Sunday February 14. Our singers have a great repertoire of songs to entertain the audience and many truly romantic numbers for this special concert, says Singing School NZ chairman and local musical director Helen Walker.
