Despite the unrest that occurred on Wednesday afternoon after right-wing protesters overran the U.S. Capitol Building, congressional lawmakers ultimately certified the results of the 2020 election, setting the stage for President-elect Joe Biden to be sworn in on January 20. But the demonstration that sparked the riot, originally conceived as an opportunity for right-leaning Americans to protest on President Donald Trump’s behalf, came at a political cost to the commander-in-chief, resulting in calls for his removal from office.

Every two years, a formal swearing-in is held for newly elected or re-elected D.C. Councilmembers. It is usually a big deal. And by law, it has to take place on Jan. 2.
Normally it’s held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, where an oversized hall overflows with officials, family, friends, campaign workers, big wig contributors, and irritating wannabes desperately hanging around power. Mrs. New Jersey Kristina Henderson met with several women business leaders in Frenchtown recently to discuss how women can better network with each other to grow their brands, pivot during the pandemic if necessary, get inspiration, obtain mentorships, and improve their overall visibility.
