NORTHGLENN, Colo. â A single mother is warning people of a scam that swindled her out of $14,000 in savings she counted on to help care for her daughter, who is battling cancer, in case of an emergency.
In early July, Angelica Ortiz received a voicemail asking to immediately contact an investigation officer. Ortiz told police the caller, Christina Edwards, identified herself as an Internal Revenue Service agent and informed her that her identity was compromised. Edwards allegedly told her they found 21 bank accounts in her name linked to money laundering and transferred her to Christian Davis, an alleged special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration.

METTER, Ga. Alicia Nicole Wiggins, age 49, tragically lost her long-term battle with addiction while in her home on Wednesday, April 07, 2021.
“Nikki,” as everyone knew her, was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, Granny, niece, cousin and friend.
Alicia was born in Chatham County on July 15, 1971, and raised in Bulloch County, Ga., for most of her life. She was the daughter of the late Lewis Lander Wiggins of Twin City and Mary Fay Bradley of Statesboro.
She is survived by her daughters, Amber Law (Brett Law) of Statesboro, Ga.; Amanda Small (Matthew McLean) of Manlius, N.Y.; Ashley Morgado of Claxton, Ga.; Tina Morgan (Adam Morgan) of Crossville, Tenn.; Tammy Small (EJ Morgan) of Cookeville, Tenn.; nieces, Christina Edwards (Carl Edwards) of Ellabell; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and a beloved dog, Pistol.
