The results are in and it s official - Lidl has been named the cheapest supermarket in the UK, beating the likes of Aldi, Asda and Tesco, according to Which? research.
The low-cost retailer received the golden accolade following a comparison of 45 popular branded and own-label products across eight major supermarkets for at least 100 days between January and December last year.
The results showed that on average, Lidl customers paid just £42.67 for their trolley which included items such as Hovis bread, Knorr stock cubes and free-range eggs.
