SIU Sustainable Farm Will Open A Farm Store In The Student Center This Fall

A new farm store selling fresh produce is coming to the SIU Student Center. When the students return to campus this fall, they’ll have a new place to get fresh produce on campus inside the Student Center. SIU’s Sustainable Farm will sell fresh produce at a farm store in the Student Center. The sustainable farm receives food waste from student housing and uses it to make compost for growing produce that will go back to student housing to be used in the dining halls. University Farms Program Director Chris Vick says they want students to have access to healthy and fresh food.
