Mixed growing season for Iowa farmers

KEOKUK (WGEM) With the growing season now halfway over, Southeast Iowa farmers said while some things are doing well, they re still holding out hope for other crops.
LCL Farms owner Chris Lindner spent his Monday harvesting wheat. He said this year s wheat harvest is a good one. Normally, we like to get 50 and 70 bushels per acre but we re running a little closer to 80 or 90 right now most of it, he said. I m seeing better numbers than I ve ever seen, employee Branden Day said. I don t know if it s the rain, just the weather has helped us out this year.
