This Ash Wednesday, robed ministers will be standing outside of the church to hand out ashes. Unlike the past, however, ashes and prayer cards will be handed out in sealed plastic bags. Believers can pray with ministers and mark their own foreheads with an ashen cross in the driveway, or take the ashes home and join the church s noon or 7 p.m. services and ash themselves then.
