Mercury is the quirky innermost planet in our solar system.
John Hickey had an online chat with Chris Palma, a Penn State University astronomy professor, about how to spot the first rock from the sun this week. The thing I tell people is Mercury is a challenge. But that doesn t mean that if you ve never seen the planets before that, you can t see it. It just means it s going to take a little bit of practice and a little bit of trying, said Palma.

April 16, 2021 As more and more adults are getting vaccinated against COVID-19, researchers are reaching out to families as they recruit the youngest members of the population to test how effective the vaccine will be in them. For the newest round of vaccine trials, focused on the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines, researchers need babies as young as 6 months to children under 12. It takes a lot of commitment to enroll, says Emmanuel Chip Walter, MD, chief medical officer at the Duke Human Vaccine Institute and an investigator for COVID-19 vaccine trials. There are unknowns. We don t know if [kids will have] more fever or side effects. Parents have to go into it with that understanding. And not all parents are willing to have their children be included in the study, and that s OK. That s their choice. They have to be comfortable for their children to be included.

One person is dead after a shooting a Grand Prairie home early Tuesday morning, police say.
The shooting happened in the 1900 block of State Highway 161 at 2:10 a.m. Tuesday, Grand Prairie police said.

Teenager arrested for fatal shooting of 18-year-old at Grand Prairie home, police say
Michael DeLeon, 19, faces murder charge in the death of Chris Palma, police said.
A 19-year-old has been arrested after an 18-year-old was fatally shot early Tuesday at a Grand Prairie home, police say.
Michael DeLeon was being held in the Grand Prairie Detention Center on a charge of murder in connection with the death of Chris Palma, police said.
Officers were called to a hospital about 2:10 a.m. after Palma was taken to the hospital by a friend.
Palma had been shot in the 1900 block of South State Highway 161, near Interstate 20 and Lake Ridge Parkway, police said. He was later pronounced dead.
