State Senator Robert Peters (D-Chicago) released the following statement after a Minnesota jury found former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin guilty of the 2020 murder of George Floyd:
“Today, a jury decided that Derek Chauvin will be locked up and will face justice for murdering George Floyd, but we are still a long way from delivering George and his family the justice they truly deserve.
“True justice would be creating a society where police don’t murder unarmed Black people.

Former Republican Florida Rep. David Jolly blasted Republican Florida Rep. Matt Gaetz on Wednesday for his “arrogance” in response to allegations of sexual misconduct against him.
Jolly offered Gaetz advice while appearing on MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House,” and said “the best thing” Gaetz could do is “shut up, hire a lawyer, and resign.”
Guest host Chris Jansing began by stating that Gaetz isn’t hiding from the allegations, and said that he “seems to like getting into these kinds of frays.” She claimed that the DOJ isn’t someone “he wants to get into a fray with,” and added that he’s planning on “getting in front of things” by speaking to a conservative women’s group at former President Trump’s Doral, Florida, golf course on Friday. She then asked Jolly if he thought Gaetz could survive the allegations.

“The Hollywood Foreign Press Association is made up of 90 international no Black journalists,” Tina said up top.
Later on in the monologue, Amy said, “A lot of flashy garbage got nominated, but that happens. That’s it’s thing. A number of Black actors and Black projects got overlooked.”
“The point is, even with stupid things, inclusivity is important. And there are no Black members of the Hollywood Foreign Press,”
