Guadalajara Airport refurbishment plans set out

A phased reopening of the terminal over the next two years is expected, with plans to be fully operational by 2023
Mexican airport operator, Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP) plans to invest 10 billion pesos (£3.5m) into Guadalajara International Airport before 2026.
An additional runway and new terminal building are both included in the plans, as well as a redesign of the commercial space in the existing building, costing around 6 billion pesos (£2.2m).
Architectural company, The Design Solution has been chosen to carry out the revamp, with plans to have a phased opening over the next two years before being fully opened in 2023.

Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico (GAP) has appointed The Design Solution as part of an ambitious $504 million overhaul of Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International Airport in Mexico.
The Design Solution will redesign the commercial space, which is due to open in phases to 2023, in line with a $302 million financial injection.
Space at the core airside commercial zone will lift from 5,700sq m to 7,250sq m.
LARGE ROTUNDA FEATURE
As the third largest airport in Mexico, Guadalajara Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla International handled nearly 15 million passengers in 2019.
The redevelopment will lift capacity to more than 30 million passengers annually.
Previously under-utilised space will enlarge the commercial footprint and offer a new vibrancy to travellers.
