The unofficial tabulation is as follows: Craig Regan: 512 (20.49%) John Nichol: 1,987 (79.51%) On Dec 16. the Brazos County Elections Administrator notified the City of College Station that only three (of 1,097) mail ballots were received by the 5 p.m. deadline.

This is according to Jay Socol, who is the director of communications for the City of College Station. While after the runoff election on Tuesday declared no winner due to the amount of mail-in ballots and military ballots still out, only three of the possible 1,097 mail-in ballots were received by the Wednesday deadline. John Nichols was in the lead by 1,475 votes. With not enough mail-in votes received, Craig Regan will not be able to overcome Nichols lead.

We voted almost 900 by mail, so it s a really low turnout,” said Trudy Hancock, Brazos County Elections Administrator. With roughly 59,000 voters in College Station alone, Hancock says after such a large turnout in the general election, it’s important that voters come out one more time for the two candidates on the ballot

College Station City Council candidates reflect on runoff as election day nears

The Tuesday runoff election day to determine the College Station City Council Place 5 seat winner is quickly approaching.  Early voting ended Friday, with 1,011 in-person votes and 883 mail-in ballots cast, according to Brazos County Elections Administrator Trudy Hancock. The candidates on the ballot are incumbent John Nichols and one of his two challengers, Craig Regan. They are competing for a four-year term. In November, Nichols received 12,990 votes, or 45.7%, while Regan got 10,633, or 37.4%. On Tuesday, voters can go to the College Station Utilities Meeting & Training Facility on 1603 Graham Road or the Bob & Wanda Meyer Senior & Community Center at 2275 Dartmouth St. to cast a ballot. Both locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
