Greg Johns, campus pastor at Evangel University, has been named the institution s new vice president for student development.
He will start the job May 16, succeeding Sheri Phillips, who is retiring after 35 years with the private Christian university.
“I am humbled to follow Dr. Sheri Phillips as vice president for student development, Johns said in a news release. She is leaving behind a strong legacy and culture where students thrive and grow in their educational and personal pursuits.
Formerly area director of the South Africa region for Assemblies of God World Missions, John has been the university s director of spiritual life and campus pastor since 2014.
