Williamson County Homeless Alliance helping shelter people in group home

Nashville Tennessean Yevette Smith, 57, happily hugged her cat Whisper in a comfortable apartment in Franklin last week as she sat on a fluffy couch recollecting how opposite her life seemed almost a year ago. She s been with me through everything, Smith, a California native, said looking down at the faithful Calico companion. Back then, Smith could barely stretch out at night while she slept in her car in a Walmart parking lot. Life was uncomfortable and uncertain. I was just out there, she said. Greg Elliott founds Max s Pizza Plus in Wellsville

WELLSVILLE A new, mobile pizza option is coming to the Village of Wellsville this spring and summer. Max’s Pizza Plus, founded by Gregory Elliott, will offer pizza, breadsticks, cookies and beverages at various places around the village, made fresh in Elliott’s pizza trailer. The village board approved Elliott’s peddling and soliciting application Monday night, green-lighting the new venture to begin serving food May 1.  Elliott launched the business as he prepares to “semi-retire” from GST BOCES.  “My father was a baker all his life and actually taught here at Alfred State College,” he said. “My brother owned a bakery down here on Main Street for quite awhile. I always thought I’d get into some type of food business.”
