Sonora, CA – Travelers can expect detours on two Tuolumne County roadways in Sonora tomorrow.
Public Works has hired local Njirich and Son’s Construction to conduct utility work on Beckwith Road and Sylva Lane near Cabezut Road, off Greenley Road, and north of Highway 108. The hours of operation are from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on both roadways Friday (May 14).
County officials detail that barricades and detours signage will be in place at both locations. Motorists are asked to use caution and slow down near the cone zones.

Sonora, CA The Sonora City Council will discuss several items at its meeting coming up this evening.
It includes altering the development agreements with the two local marijuana dispensaries, Hazy Bulldog Farms and the Bract House. The revised development agreement calls for the dispensaries paying the city a monthly fee of $12,500 per month, or 7.5-percent of gross receipts, whichever is higher. The previous fee was $10,000 per month or 5-percent of receipts.
The Council will also vote on identifying the long talked about Greenley Road extension project as a top priority project and urge the Tuolumne County Transportation Council to put it at the top of the list for future funding. The goal of the project is to reduce traffic on Highway 49 in the down
Updated Bus stuck on Mono Way in Sonora
Update at 2:40 p.m.: Sonora Police report that a section of Mono Way closed to allow a tow truck to remove a stuck truck has reopened to traffic and it is moving freely once again. Further details on the incident are below.
Original post at 2:05 p.m.: Sonora, CA Sonora Police have shut down the east and westbound lanes of Mono Way near the Greenley Road intersection for a stuck bus.
Sonora dispatch reports that the bus bottomed out while trying to turn into the Sonora Plaza Shopping Center in the 740 block of Mono Way.
