Amira Nadeem was accused of taking the Peugeot Horizon in Rutherglen, South Lanarkshire in August this year. The 22-year-old was the first transgender contestant on the dating show. A not guilty plea to a single car theft charge was accepted by the Crown at Glasgow Sheriff Court. But, her former co-accused Andrew Naismith, 23, and Gregor Eckert, 26, admitted assaulting driver Muhammad Rashid, 40, to his injury which was racially aggravated. The court heard the pair were picked up in a private hire car in the city’s Townhead before 2am. While en-route to Seafield Drive, Rutherglen, Eckert became racially abusive to Mr Rashid after he told the passengers to not drink in his car.
