Every Panchayat to have 5-bedded COVID Care Centre, says LG

JAMMU, May 19: In order to effectively tackle COVID -19 pandemic in rural areas, Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha has directed the Deputy Commissioners and Health department to ensure a minimum 5-bedded COVID Care Centre including one Oxygen supported bed in every Panchayat of Jammu & Kashmir for the patient requiring immediate medical attention.
Expenditure of up to Rs 1 lakh per Panchayat has been approved by the Lt Governor from District Capex Budget to make these Centres immediately functional.
The decision has been taken to create basic minimum infrastructure to provide isolation facilities at Panchayat level as many households may not have option for isolation of COVID positive patients in their own residence.

Weekend Curfew Begins in J&K Amid Covid Spike Essential workers exempt
PULWAMA: In the wake of a spike in covid-19 cases for the past few weeks in Jammu Kashmir, the authorities have imposed a weekend curfew in the erstwhile state. All entry and exit points in the union territory will remain sealed, while security forces and administrative officers are deployed to restrain public movement. People associated with essential services are exempt.
The curfew began at 7 PM Thursday in the districts of Srinagar, Jammu, Anantnag, Baramulla, Pulwama, Budgam, Kulgam, Kathua, Reasi, Udhampur and Ganderbal.The remaining nine districts of Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Shopian, Kupwara and Bandipora are to go under Corona-Curfew from 7 PM Friday. The curfew is to be lifted at 7 AM Monday.

JAMMU, Apr 26: The DDC Jammu Chairman, Bharat Bhushan Bodhi today asserted that every household in Jammu will get tap water before December 2022 under the Union Government’s flagship programme ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’.
The DDC chairman was speaking at the Gram Sabhas held here at Bhalwal under his stewardship in presence of Ex Sarpanch, Bhalwal, Narinder Singh Jamwal.
The Sabhas commenced with the people apprising the DDC Chairman about their issues especially with regard to civic necessities, revenue related concerns and other day to day problems. After hearing the people’s issues, Bharat Bhushan assured that sooner than later their problems will be addressed as the Government is committed to provide good governance to the people.
