Bawumia supports economic empowerment of PWDs LISTEN

Vice President Alhaji Mahamudu Bawumia has lauded the Charismatic Evangelistic Ministry for planning to build a residential and livelihoods empowerment centre for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
The project falls under the Church s Village Project to economically empower PWDs to realise their potentials.
In a tweet, Dr Bawumia wrote, I am already excited to learn about this laudable project and want to be associated with it by assisting in whatever way I can to make it a reality .
In a related development, the Anglican Diocese of Accra told the Vice President about the Church s plans to establish a 1,000-acre rubber plantation to improve livelihoods.

Tiny homes could be part of the solution to Winnipeg’s homelessness problem, says a local social service agency specializing in housing for at-risk people.
End Homelessness Winnipeg (EHW) has surveyed people experiencing unsheltered homelessness regarding the type of housing they’d like in order to transition away from encampments, explained Lissie Rappaport of EHW to the
Winnipeg Sun on Tuesday. The consensus among those surveyed was small cabins.

Rappaport said tiny homes for those experiencing homelessness have popped up in several North American cities, including Seattle and Oregon. EHW is currently working with other stakeholders to create a tiny home community called the Village Project on the grounds of Thunderbird House on Main Street, which will provide food, cultural support and health services.

WESTLAKE, Ohio The stately Clague House at 1371 Clague Road in Westlake, once the home of the Clague family, is marking another milestone this year: its 145th birthday.
In non-pandemic times, the Westlake Historical Society offers tours of the house and it can be reserved for special occasions, including weddings. The historical society also hosts special events there, including fundraisers.
Lysa Stanton, historical society president, and her husband, Dave Pfister, a board member, coordinate special photo opportunities at the house for holidays. Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and Uncle Sam have visited and posed with pets and people for a small fee.
