December 28th, 2020 | by: Stu Marckoon Jackson   (Jackson) – A weekend crash in Waldo County has killed a 60-year old man from Orrington.  State Police report to Star 97.7 that Douglas Bryant was driving a Pontiac that left Route 7 in Jackson, hit a culvert and then a tree.  He died, a passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and emergency workers took him to the hospital in Belfast. December 18th, 2020 | by: Stu Marckoon Ellsworth Ambulance (Ellsworth) – The City of Ellsworth may start paying an ambulance service to provide EMS to the city.  A contract with Northern Light Transport is on Monday’s city council agenda.  The Ellsworth American reports a city hall committee and interim city manager Glenn Moshier have recommended paying a per capita contract similar to the contract surrounding towns pay for ambulance coverage.  City councilors are also looking at having the city form its own ambulance service instead of relying on private contractors.   Storm Follow Up (Ellsworth) – Some parts of Maine are digging out from a lot of snow.  The storm dumped about 5-inches on the Ellsworth area after starting late yesterday morning.  The cold temperatures and relatively dry air made shoveling pretty easy.  Police reported numerous accidents during the storm as drivers got used to winter driving again.  Southern Maine saw nearly

December 8th, 2020 | by: Stu Marckoon Police Search   (Bangor) – A manhunt last evening in the Capehart section of Bangor as police looked for two men who fled following a traffic stop.  A state trooper reportedly pulled over a maroon colored SUV for a traffic violation and both the driver and passenger fled.  The passenger dropped a handgun and police recovered the gun.  Bangor police joined state troopers in the search.  Police have not released names.     (Augusta) – Bucket trucks and line crews will continue working around the clock to get electricity restored to Mainers who lost it during the weekend.  Central Maine Power reported nearly 31-thousand outages at 5:30 this morning, while Versant Power said more than 14-hundred, mostly in Northern Penobscot County still lacked electricity.  The power went out Saturday as heavy wet snow and high winds brought down trees over power lines, snapping the lines and sometimes the poles.  CMP says the
