Dec 11, Colombo: The government has allocated Rs. 7 billion for a project to build bridges in the Ratnapura and Kegalle districts. Sabaragamuwa Province Governor Tikiri Kobbekaduwa said the United States has provided the loan assistance to the project and 250 bridges will be constructed in Sabaragamuwa Province alone alone under this loan assistance from the United States. He was speaking at the inauguration of the construction on a bridge over the Paragala River in Ayagama, Kalawana under the government s Rural Bridge Project. He said that Rs. 37 million will be spent on the construction of the bridge and that the construction work will be completed soon.
