ALTON The Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau of Southwest Illinois on Monday launched “Greatness Around Every Turn,” a new campaign targeting active outdoor lifestyles and living like a local.
“We want to encourage people to hop in the car and head to southwest Illinois where they can experience amazing outdoor fun or just relax and live like a local,” said Cory Jobe, President/CEO of the Great Rivers & Routes Tourism Bureau.

GRAFTON Aerie’s Resort in Grafton reopened Thursday after a temporary closure due to pandemic-related mitigation efforts.
The winery, gift shop, lodging and SkyTour reopened Thursday, with Grafton Zipline tours projected to resume shortly.
Access to amenities “on the hill” will continue to be exclusively via the Grafton SkyTour. Open-air chairlifts and enclosed gondolas will be available with boarding at the downtown terminal at the corner of Main and Market streets behind Grove Memorial Park.
Seasonally adjusted hours of operation for the SkyTour are 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. (last SkyTour ride up) Thursdays through Sundays. Winery hours are noon to 8 p.m. (last SkyTour ride down) Thursdays through Sundays. The gift shop in the terrace is open noon to 5 p.m. those same days.
